If you’ve been to a fair recently, you’ve seen stands selling baffling fried foods.

Fairs have become a twisted scientific laboratory where vendors will deep fry just about anything to see how fast someone will suffer a heart attack.

We’ve seen everything from fried Oreo’s to fried avocados… and even fried sticks of butter.  Yes, seriously.

You really can’t get worse than that.  But that won’t stop vendors at the State Fair of Texas from trying.

The 8 fried food finalists vying for the Big Tex Choice Award are:

#1.  Fried beer-filled pretzel pocket

#2.  Fried frozen margarita

#3.  Fried smores Pop Tart

#4.  Fried Frito pie with chili and corn chips

#5.  Fried chocolate

#6.  Fried lemonade

#7.  Fried caviar with black-eyed peas

#8.  Fried club salad
(Don’t try to pretend like you’re going with the healthier alternative on this one.  There’s no point in eating a salad if you’re gonna deep fry it.)

So when they say everything’s bigger in Texas, they really just mean the people?
