The Jetpacker

We love hearing stories about people who get so fed up with their job, they flip out and quit in a blaze of glory.

But this takes it up a notch.  This is easily one of the best job quitting stories EVER.

After a JetBlue flight landed at JFK this afternoon, a woman disobeyed the rules and got up early to remove her luggage from the overheard compartment.

Steward Steven Slater walked over to the woman and told her to sit back down, but she continued to pull her bags from the bin and hit Steven in the head.

When Steven asked for an apology, the woman told him to go eff himself.

That was the the last straw for Steven.

In a fit of rage, he got on the plane’s PA system, cussed out the entire plane, stole some beers, pulled the emergency chute, slide off the plane and ran away.

Police later found Steven at his home in Queens getting it on with his partner one last time before being arrested.

He’s being charged with 5 offenses, including criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and criminal trespass.  If convicted, he could face up to 7 years in prison.

When police asked other stewards on the plane why the 28-year veteran freaked out so dramatically, they said it was because “he was having a bad day.”
