Call off the search team, we’re still here!

Sorry to all our loyal readers (A.K.A.: our moms) for not updating as much as we would have liked.

No, we haven’t been sitting in a line outside a theater for the last couple of months waiting for the “New Moon” premiere.  We’ve actually been working on some things so BIG, we can never write the word “BIG” without caps… ever… again.

We don’t want to spoil ALL the surprises just yet, because if we did, what would you have to look forward to?

But two of those things are taking place early next year.  Two trips deserve two hints: both destinations are cold and both destinations have events involving people who are probably on your “Famous Person Hook-Up List.”  You know what list I’m talking about… The ten celebrities your significant other will allow you to hook up with if you ever met them.  Don’t act like you haven’t had this conversation.

We’ll let those hints percolate and move on to something we want you to know about before making our first BIG announcement of many more to come.

First…

We get asked the same questions a lot.  Usually it’s: “Why do you have scratches all over you?”  And the answer to that is: our pet rabbit.  She’s beautiful and crazy.  A combo that never works.  Ask Angelina Jolie.  But the travel question we’re most asked is: “How do you find such great travel deals?”

That’s a much longer discussion than “blame it on the rabbit.”  Instead of writing multiple posts on how to find deals, where to get deals, all the factors that contribute to a good deal, etc., we’ve decided to compile every tidbit of information on how to have a 4-star trip at a 2-star price into an eBook.

It’s an eBook so informative, so frugal, so life-altering, that it hasn’t even been written yet.  But when it’s finally complete, you’ll need to come up with a plan on how to use all that money you’re gonna save.

We’re working hard to have the book out soon — we hear it makes a great stocking stuffer! — so keep checking back for that.

The Jetpacker is going to Germany!

Ahhhh, the land of schnitzels and lederhosen and really long words like Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz.  (We better keep that word handy in case we get into an intense debate about beef labeling supervision laws.)

Mark your calendars for December 23rd through New Year’s Day and check back for updates about all the sights, Christmas markets, food and fun we’ll experience in Frankfurt and Berlin.

We’ve already started planning our itinerary, but if you’ve been to Germany, know of someplace cool in Germany, or just saw Germany in a movie once, send us an e-mail or leave us a comment.

When we’re abroad, we won’t have access to the internet as often as we did in Buenos Aires (where it’ll be summer… and warm… and sunny… and summer), so expect a plethora of posts when we thaw our fingers back home.

The trip is a month away from today, but don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of new posts until then!
